Description

An Optical Brinell Hardness Tester is a precision instrument used to measure the Brinell hardness of metallic materials by optically measuring the diameter of the indentation left by a hardened steel or carbide ball. After applying a specified load for a defined dwell time, the indentation is observed through an integrated optical system (microscope or digital optics), ensuring accurate and repeatable hardness values.
It is widely used in foundries, metallurgical labs, quality control departments, and research institutions for testing castings, forgings, and large metal components.

Applications

  • Cast iron and steel testing

  • Non-ferrous metals (aluminium, copper alloys, brass)

  • Heat-treated components

  • Forgings and heavy machine parts

  • Metallurgical research and quality inspection

Key Features

  • High-precision optical measurement

  • Rugged construction for industrial use

  • Accurate and repeatable Brinell results

  • Easy operation and calibration

  • Suitable for large and uneven specimens
